Paul is married to Linda (since 1974) and was the pastor of the German Seventh Day Baptist Church in Salemville, PA, from 1998 until retirement in 2014. His academic preparation included:

While studying in Madison, Paul and Linda became members of the Madison Seventh Day Baptist Church, a connection they have maintained. Paul has led Bible Studies at the annual sessions of the Seventh Day Baptist General Conference and has actively participated in the work of the Conference.
